Meta Connect: Muse Charm device, video avatars, and subscription pricing unveiled

At Meta Connect 2026, Zuckerberg introduced Muse Charm, a palm-sized device with a roughly 2-inch OLED touchscreen, 5G, front and rear cameras, fingerprint activation, and a see-through case exposing the electronics. It can be worn on the wrist, pocketed, or attached to a bag via lanyard. The device runs a new operating system built around Muse and is positioned as a standalone physical endpoint for the agent without replacing its cloud architecture. Hardware finishing details are still being finalized ahead of a December 2026 target; no pricing has been announced. Meta also announced Muse Realtime Avatar, which adds live video chat to the previously text-only Muse interface. Users can customize the avatar's appearance and voice; a Diffusion Transformer model conditioned on speech tokens and a rolling window of recent video generates continuous avatar video in real time, with Meta Video Seal embedding invisible watermarks throughout without adding latency. Muse itself launched September 8, 2026, as a personal AI agent capable of sending email, booking travel, filling web forms, negotiating, and completing purchases, with tasks continuing to run after the app is closed. For payments, it uses placeholder credential tokens swapped for real credentials only at the network boundary and can pay via Stripe Link single-use card numbers scoped to a specific merchant, amount, and time window. Subscription tiers are a free plan with 100 million tokens per week, a $20/month Power plan with 500 million tokens, and a $100/month Maximum plan with 3 billion tokens. Zuckerberg also discussed monetizing Muse through transactions, and Morningstar expects Meta to eventually collect transaction fees or revenue shares from businesses reached through the agent. Meta also announced Muse will be available on Meta AI smart glasses.
