Perplexity has released a local AI agent for Windows that runs on-device across local files, Microsoft 365, and the web. The NVIDIA blog refers to it as Portable Computer; a separate report calls it Personal Computer. The agent runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and requires NVIDIA GeForce RTX or RTX PRO GPUs with 24GB or more of VRAM. It ships pre-configured with a post-trained local model, such as Qwen 3.8 27B, optimized for NVIDIA RTX hardware, so users do not need to manually configure AI software stacks. Connectors for Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, and GitHub integrate it into existing workflows. When a task requires advanced reasoning, the agent can escalate to cloud models, but asks user permission before sending data off-device. The Windows release extends prior support for NVIDIA DGX Spark systems and RTX PCs running Linux.
