Meta's Muse AI agent, launched September 8, 2026 at $20 to $100 per month, reached 10.2 million U.S. downloads within its first 40 days. Rohan Paul reported the pace was matched by only 11 other apps, most of them mobile games. Daily active users hit 2.5 million on October 16, a 15% weekly increase, with seven-day retention of 30% and 14-day retention of 23% exceeding rival averages of 19% and 16%; DAUs remain below a quarter of total U.S. downloads. About 5 million downloads accumulated in the first three weeks, with Muse ranking number one on free-app charts in both the U.S. and Canada. On September 23 at META-Connect, Meta expanded Muse Connectors to include Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, PayPal, Expedia, GitHub, and other retailers and services. Muse integrates with a user's Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, email, and payment data. Privacy controls include an opt-out from training data use, and Meta said it plans to ship an encrypted version later in 2026 that would lock even Meta out of session content by default. Needham retained a Hold rating on Meta stock, citing a 25% six-month return and a price trading near fair value.
