That claim follows OpenAI publishing what it says is an AI-generated solution to the Navier-Stokes equations, which the Wall Street Journal described as only the second Millennium Prize problem solved since the seven were established in 2000. The Navier-Stokes result came from an internal model more capable than GPT-6 Astra, coordinating roughly 10,000 agents for about 88 hours. Andrew Curran said the second problem is rumored to be the Hodge Conjecture and the model may be called Aeon; OpenAI confirmed neither claim. OpenAI also disclosed that a separate new internal model has been in training since August 28 and showed record benchmark performance including in mathematics within roughly a week of training.
