Dyna Robotics Launches Dyna-2.1 Semi-Humanoid for Full Commercial Workflows

Dyna Robotics has released Dyna-2.1, a semi-humanoid robot system built around a new robot named Taku, demonstrated in an uncut hour-long video completing a hotel laundry room workflow without human intervention. The robot's architecture runs a parallel vision-language model to monitor the environment while a separate model keeps the hands moving, enabling dynamic task-switching such as pausing folding to attend to a finished machine. Dyna Robotics describes Dyna-2.1 as the first physical agent achieving reliable super long-horizon whole-body autonomy. The company measures commercial viability using Mean Time Between Interventions, which co-founder Jason Ma said is more relevant than per-episode task success rates. In warehouse pick-and-place tasks, Dyna claims the robot achieves 200 units per hour with plus-or-minus 2mm placement accuracy, including on previously unseen items. Customers are billed for complete roles rather than isolated tasks, and the company states the robot is already deployed at commercial sites in warehousing and hotel housekeeping. The name Taku is derived from the Japanese word takumi, meaning mastery through craft, and the robot was designed from first principles to optimize for data transferability and robot learning.
