The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Li will join AMD as chief scientist. The acquisition price represents roughly a 64% premium over the $5 billion valuation discussed during a $1 billion February funding round in which both AMD and Nvidia participated. World Labs builds AI that understands and generates three-dimensional environments, with applications in robotics, autonomous vehicles, gaming, and AR. The deal brings AMD approximately 70 researchers working on robotics and 3D simulation models.
